House fire Coal Township "Ruled Arson"

Update: Coal Township police arrested Brett and Jennifer Stahl on arson charges Tuesday after a state police fire marshal reported an accelerant was found in the first floor of their home at 950 W. Pine St.

19:45:59 hrs. Northumberland County Communications Center dispatched a working building fire at 950 West Pine Street, Coal Township, Pa.

The first in units found a fully involved 1st division with flames blowing out the A and D windows. The fire was then upgraded to 2nd then 3rd alarm status as fire crews executed a surgical strike bringing the fire under control in a little more than an hour.

A family of 4 was displaced and is being assisted by the red cross.

The couple owned the house and were in the process of renovating the building, said Amber Rudy, a neighbor from across the street.

The cause of the fire is undetermined as of this writing.
