A baby elephant fell into the Deepor Beel fresh water lake on 10th of May. The lake is located in Kamrup district of Assam. The locals came to the baby elephant rescue as soon as they heard of it being trapped in the lake and informed the forest department . A team of forest official and NDRF engaged to rescue the elephant .According to official the baby elephant along with his mother was crossing the Railway tracks in morning around 6 when it fell and got stuck in lake covered with water hyacinth. It took around 12 hours to rescue the baby elephant.
