Around 30 firefighters tackle fire in Walton which leaves building partially collapsed

Surrey Fire & Rescue Service says Fire Control staff received multiple 999 calls shortly after 6pm this evening, Monday 13th May 2019, to reports of a derelict building on fire near to Waterside drive, Walton.

Around 30 firefighters were at the scene including crews from Walton, Sunbury, Camberley, Painshill, Staines, Esher, Reigate Incident Command & Fire Boats from Sunbury were called out.

The building has partially collapsed.

Surrey Police were also in attendance. The cause of the fire isn’t known.

Footage shows firefighters using a boat on the River Thames to access the building, you can also see a number of crew and fire engines with smoke still billowing from the property.
