This is the stomach churning moment a python was found swallowing a huge rat with four big gulps.

Kasem Wattana stumbled on the nocturnal struggle on wasteland outside his home in Uttaradit, northern Thailand, last Friday (23/08).

The large snake was filmed making light work of eating the rodent - devouring almost off the rat in under a minute.

Footage shows the hungry python making four large gulps with the dead rat each time moving deeper into the reptile's jaws.

Kasem said: ''The python was actually smaller than the rat. I think it was definitely a juvenile python.

''I could not belive how easy it was for the python to eat the rat. We found the python while it was already swallowing the rat. It was gone in two minutes.

''People are scared of snakes but they help us by eating the rats which carry diseases.''
