A stomach-churning video has emerged of a Burmese python swallowing a deer whole in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place at the Dudhwa National Park on April 17, 2019.

Visuals show the python strangulating the deer to suffocate it to death.
Following this, it proceeds to swallow the whole animal.
The size of spotted deer was good, but this python took less than an hour to swallow it.

Burmese pythons are one of the largest species of snakes on the planet.

They kill their prey by constriction, coiling their bodies around the animal until it suffocates.

These huge snakes also possess stretchy ligaments in their jaws that allow them to swallow their food whole.
