A 15-year-old boy, was riding a bicycle to his school in Panruti in Southern India on September 12.
As he was getting late, he was rushing to cross the Kumbakonam-Chennai road, and failed to notice a lorry which was passing by.
Luckily for him, traffic police constable Rajadeepan, 32, who was managing the traffic, notived the mishap which was about to unfold.
The alert cop grabbed the cycle and stopped the boy from riding into the lorry. He then scolded the boy and let him go after the vehicle passed.
The dramatic incident was caught on a traffic CCTV mounted at the junction.
Eyewitnesses said the boy would have been crushed if the policeman had not stopped him.
Panruti Deputy Superintendent of Police Nagarajan, Traffic Police Inspector Govindaraj and other senior officers have lauded Rajadeepan.
