Sunday 6th October 2019, During a round of golf at Wigan Golf Club, I almost fell over as the fairway beneath me seemingly fell away, on looking closer it was obvious there was a substantial amount of water that had created a pocket about 2-3 inches under the surface, it had been raining so much in the preceding 2-3 weeks the water table obviously couldn't take anymore, the patch of ground was not too far from a small pond so I thought it best to release the water by puncturing it with a club, after most of it had drained away I made sure the hole I made was closed then carried on my round.
