Just an adorable clip of a rescued otter helping some children to dig a hole on a beach in the Philippines.

The cute moment was captured on the island of Palawan today (October 19).

The Asian small-clawed otter named Uma was rescued as a baby has become very comfortable in human company.

Due to ongoing habitat loss, pollution, and hunting, the Asian small-clawed otter is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.

Hi, My name is Uma. I am an Asian small clawed otter. Me and my kind live around mangroves, rivers and streams in Palawan. Most people don’t see us as we mostly are shy of people, and come out late in the day and through the night to forage.

I was rescued as a wee baby by a Hooman female. She takes me out to forage and swim in the mangroves so I don’t get bored.

Today I met up with some kids at the beach who were so loving to me that I didn’t mind them touching me. I even helped them dig a hole in the sand. Maybe they were looking for crabs too.
