This is the adorable moment a puppy chased after a Buddhist monk - nipping at his sacred orange robe.

The Aspin breed of dog named Keng spotted the religious figure arrive at the home in Sakon Nakhon, north-east Thailand, in the morning on November 7.

Monks visit homes every morning to collect small food donations, one of the Buddhist traditions still commonly practised in rural areas.

However, when the monks were walking away to return to the temple the innocent dog did not want to them leave and began tugging at their gown.

Pitaphon Thumprassen said that it was funny to see the one-year-old dog chasing the monk. She believes that Keng mistook the monk for her brother and tried to stop him from leaving.

Pitaphon said: "My dog bit the robe and pulled it which he should not do, it's very bad to interfere with the monks. But the dog does not know this so we forgive him.''
