London man's skylight SHATTERS in shower of shards from ice seeping in

A man in London is awoken on Monday morning (December 2) to a lound bang, only to find his skylight in a tenuous position — a sheet of ice has seeped into the window — before capturing the harrowing moment when the glass completely shatters and shards scatter everywhere.

"It was really frosty and I was upstairs when I heard a loud bang. If I’m honest, I thought someone I had broken in so I went downstairs and heard cracking in our skylight window — which I first thought was the ice cracking. It was completely shattered. I started to record it to send to our family group chat when the glass split. It smashed everywhere, leaving me in shock. At least I wasn’t standing under it as I wouldn’t be here today," George, the fortunate filmer, tells Newsflare.

"We think the glass was faulty, water got into the frame, turned to ice, expanded and smashed the window. The aftermath took about two hours to clean up, and that was not fun," George tells Newsflare.
