This is the special type of coconut in Vietnam. They are called " Dừa sáp" in Vietnamese or "Creamy Coconut" in English.
This is a coconut variety developed solely in the region of Cau Ke Town, Tra Vinh province, Vietnam. Different from normal coconuts that contain water. Creamy coconuts are special when they are dense and without water. Coconut rice is white and soft. When you cut the coconut in half. Coconut rice surrounds a very thick layer. Coconut rice can be processed into many dishes such as coconut, coconut cream, coconut milk.
According to the research of scientists, the weather and the land in this area can create these special cream coconuts. Some places have tried growing this particular type of coconut but all failed because the coconut did not create special cream.
Each coconut cream chamber usually only has a few fruits for cream, the rest is normal coconut.
Coconut cream is very expensive from 10-20 USD per fruit depending on the thickness of the cream. While normal coconuts only cost from 0.5 USD to 1 USD per fruit. Despite the very high price, the coconut cream is always a lot of buyers.
