2,000 people have visited eastern China's West Lake, one of the country's most famous scenic spots on its first day of reopening after it was shut down on January 24 amid the coronavirus outbreak.

In the video, filmed in the city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province on February 19, visitors with masks scanned a QR code on the table to enter the scenic spot through a checkpoint.

According to reports, visitors have to wear masks, show a QR code to prove that they are healthy and have their temperature checked before being allowed to enter.

杭州西湖景区16处露天景区、收费景区2月19日全部恢复开放，景区管委会副主任徐飞20日在市疫情防控工作发布会上介绍，当天收费景区接待游客约2000人次。

因疫情防控需要，1月24日起，西湖景区所属收费景点、博物馆等关闭，大型游船停运，音乐喷泉暂停开放。2月19日，管委会优化防控措施，当天起有序开放已关停的公园景点，所属露天型收费景点原则上按正常经营时间开放；景区中博物馆、纪念馆、塔阁等封闭场所继续关闭。20日，西湖游船恢复营运。

据介绍，游客须佩戴口罩，出示健康码，测量体温，符合条件方可进入。管理部门加强巡逻巡查，劝导游客不扎堆、不聚集。景区还设置临时留观点，如有异常将根据防控要求处置。同时，严格控制客流量，日接待量是承载量的50%。
