Dash Cam Child on a bike in a collision with car in residential area

This video was taken using my cars dash camera.

I was driving into a residential street, slightly blinded by the sun, when out of nowhere a child on a push bike, peddling with all his might, came hurtling around the corner and crashed into my car! It all happened in a matter of seconds, and was quite frightening.

He was on the wrong side of the road, and this could have been a lot worse than it was if I was going any quicker and didn’t slam on the brakes.

I managed to stop the car just as the child came into contact with the bonnet. He did apply his brakes, and slid onto the cars bonnet. He was uninjured and had a lucky escape. I wound down the car windows to talk with the boy, who apologised immensely.
I hope this video raises awareness of importance of road safety for young children, riding on the roads.

I have a slightly longer version of this video, also without the blur of the child.
