Vacationers were left bewildered when an elephant reached into their tour bus in search of food in southeastern Sri Lanka.

The incident took place near the Sithulpawwa temple at Yala National Park, Hambantota District on October 3, 2017.

The video shows an inquisitive elephant, called Gemunu, thrusting its trunk through the bus door.

Gamunu, an elephant known for stopping and searching safari vehicles for food, then reached in with his trunk to rummage through some paper bags near the door.

Vacationists were left bewildered when an elephant nearly plunged into their tour bus in search of food in southeastern Sri Lanka.

The incident took place near Sithulpawwa temple at Yala National Park of Hambantota District on October 03, 2017.

The video shows, an inquisitive elephant, called Gemunu, thrusting its trunk through the bus door as the tourists commenced to panicking. 

Following this, the animal began stealing food stacked inside paper bags near the vehicle door. 

Gamunu is well known for his notorious act of stopping the safari vehicles in search of food.
