This is the moment a wild elephant went on a terrifying rampage attacking two tourist vehicles at a national park in Sri Lanka.

Dramatic footage captured by Sanjaya Madushan Wickrasami in Yala National Park on February 8 shows the massive bull elephant "Nandimithra" chasing the filmer's jeep.

"Go, go!" screams a petrified passenger moments before the enraged pachyderm catches up to the off-road vehicle and rams it.

Minutes later, the footage shows the furious elephant turning his anger on the vehicle of some French tourists.

The terrified foreigners can be seen climbing around their stationary pick-up truck to avoid the onslaught as the elephant repeatedly rams the vehicle with his impressive tusks.

Fortunately, "Nandimithra", who is known by rangers to be very aggressive, eventually lost interest and wandered away from the tourists who were uninjured in the ordeal.

The video shows large tusk-sized puncture holes in the side of the safari vehicle.

"Nandimithra is a very aggressive elephant," said Wickrasami

"He always attacks cars, even outside of the park," he added.
