A market in Tomohon City, North Sulawesi province in Indonesia still sells bats and snakes, when people are scared of Corona.

In Indonesia, more than 500 people have been infected with Sars Cov 2 virus, the cause of Corona, 48 people have died. In North Sulawesi, there was one person who tested positive for corona.

But the meat sellers at Tomohon Market still sell bat meat and snakes, without fear of contracting this dangerous virus.

The sellers reasoned that the local government did not prohibit the sale of bats and snakes, even though the government had asked its citizens to carry out social distancing actions.

Buyers who came to the market said that they were not afraid of contracting the Sars Cov 2 virus, because they cooked bats and snakes several times before eating them.

Some people of North Sulawesi really like to eat bat meat and snakes. These animals are obtained by traders from suppliers who catch them in the forest.
