Indonesia: The Space Volcano in North Sumatra erupts again
The Ruang Volcano Erupts Again
Ruang volcano erupted again on Tuesday 30 April. The powerful eruption occurred at around 02.35 local time. Residents of Tagulandang Island, the island directly in front of Ruang Volcano, felt the ejection of volcanic material. Indonesian volcanic authorities have raised the status of Volcano
The atmosphere on Tagulandang Island is tense. Residents ran to save themselves, avoiding falling rocks. Meanwhile the power goes out.
The Ruang Volcano previously erupted very powerfully on April 17 2024, forcing thousands of residents to be evacuated. This morning's eruption was wider than the eruption on Wednesday, April 17.
The eruption of the Space Volcano caused the operations of Manado's Sam Ratulangi International Airport to be temporarily closed.
