This is the heartwarming moment a kind seafarer gave water to a tired little bird that hitchhiked on their cargo ship.

The trawlerman, Khun Tong , spotted the bird flying around the stern while they are sailing from Brazil to Mexico on April 22.

Footage shows a Blackburnian warbler being given some water by the man. The tired was seen trying to drink water slowly.

Khun Tong, who's originally from Thailand, said: "I saw the thirsty bird looking for some water on the floor. I think it has been flying many miles looking for a ship to take some rest. I hope my water will help the bird a lot."

Blackburnian warblers are small, migratory, birds that travel in southern Central America and in South America.
