Millions of baby Olive Ridley turtles have begun hatching out of their eggshells from a mass nesting sites in eastern India's Odisha, marking the culmination of the annual arribada- a synchronised, large scale nesting of some sea turtle- of these marine species.

The visual came out of the nesting site at Nasi-2 islands, Gahirmatha beach off the Bay of Bengal on May 8.

According to reports, at least two crores (20 million) of Olive Ridley hatchlings have emerged and have made their way to the sea.

The video shows a bale of baby turtles waddling back to the sea after hatching from the eggs.

Several forest personnel are generally deployed at the beach to keep vigil and ensure safe and undisturbed mass nesting of the turtles.
