Prospector 1 jackup oil drilling rig up close in Sheerness, UK
Close up footage of the huge 'Prospector 1' jack-up oil drilling rig, which is currently being stored at the Port of Sheerness in Kent. The massive £123 million machine is more usually found far out in the North Sea, but due to the coronavirus pandemic has found itself temporarily out of work.
The self-elevating rig features 3 cranes, 6 engines, a helicopter deck and can accommodate a crew of 140 when fully operational, but is currently believed to have only a skeleton crew aboard. It's due to be joined by its sister rig Prospector 5 in August.
