Contractors loading the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Richmond, VA. Installed on a 75' tall column in 1894, this monument was removed by a local minority contractor on July 8, 2020, as part of a massive confederate monument removal ordered by Mayor Levar Stoney, utilizing his emergency powers, on July 1st. This was the sixth of ten confederate monuments removed from July 1st thru July 9th.
