Hundreds of Extinction Rebellion protesters took to the streets of London with their first protest to kick off 10 days of protests in a bid to highlight climate change.

There were musicians and bands playing instruments, and stalls offering free vegan food. In the clip, you can see lines of police restricting their movements, and had blocked most of their intended routes, so they were having to walk around and occupy Parliament Square!

One of the protesters, Janna told me, "we want to keep the planet alive and the Eco systems in good health".

Another protester named Naomi, said, "global heating is an existential threat. Government inaction is leading us into severe danger of 4C warning by the end of the century which, and we will see widespread food shortages and conflict well before that".
