Carnival style protest as 'Extinction Rebellion' gather at Parliament Square

Extinction Rebellion took to the London streets today, (September 1), as part of a series of protests across London. They have said, today's protest is one of '10 days of demonstrations across central London as part of its ongoing campaign to highlight climate change'.

The film clips shows musicians banging their drums and playing various other instruments while walking around Parliament Square, because all other routes with blocked with lines of police. There was dancing and lots of fun at the event, and everyone seemed in happy spirits.

One of the speakers, Robin Boardman, Bristol graduate and face of Extinction Rebellion spoke to the crowds was surrounded by many "Red Rebels," dressed in bright red to signify the blood of species that have died as a result of climate change, as well as those that will die in the future. He read out a declaration which began with, "this is our darkest hour, humanity finds itself embroiled in events unprecedented in history, unless its immediately addressed".
