A robber was caught after jumping out of bus window to try to escape in eastern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Nantong in Jiangsu Province on October 11, shows a man suddenly changing seat as he stole some money from a female passenger sitting in front of him.

However, the female passenger realised her money was missing and grabbed the man's arm to stop him from running away.

The man then climbed onto the seat and jumped out of the window to escape.

The bus driver was seen opening the doors and running to chase the man immediately.

The man happened to be caught by a police officer after running around 400 metres.

According to reports, the money was for the woman's child to see a doctor.

The man was sent to the police station and the money has been returned to the woman.

11日中午，南通市四路公交车上发生了一起盗窃案，小偷得手后准备跳窗跳跑，公交司机下车追了四百米，最后与交警、路过市民一起将其抓获。
事发当时，四路公交车司机葛峰，正驾车在人民路上由东向西行驶，走到麦德龙站时，一名穿着花衬衣的男子上了车，坐在一位女乘客的后排。之后男子一直用深色外套挡住双手。到了华联路口，前排女乘客突然发现自己包里的钱不见了，立即大喊抓小偷。
原来，这个小偷，上车后就盯上了这位女乘客，特意坐在她后面，用外套挡住双手实施盗窃，大约在友谊桥到钟楼路段得手，之后他正准备换座位，离开盗窃现场时，女乘客发现钱不见了，于是就发得了开始的一幕。葛峰在追小偷过程中，一名路过的市民也参与了进来，小偷从华联路口向濠河边上逃跑，大约跑了四百米左右，被恰好经过的交警挡住一举抓获。
公交驾驶员葛峰说：抓到之后，女乘客将钱拿出来点了一下，她说这钱是给儿子看病 的，是一个农村的妇女，像这种事，我们每个驾驶员都应该做的，市民都应该做的。
据了解，当时女乘客被偷了一万多块钱，都是孩子的看病钱，所幸小偷被大伙儿抓住，没有造成损失。目前，小偷已被扭送派出所处理。（视频由南通台提供）
