Amazing May Noctilucent Cloud Display! - May 30th/31st 2013

We have just had a brilliant Noctilucent Cloud display over N. Ireland tonight, this was by far the most impressive, brightest and most complex NLC display I have ever observed during the month of May which is very early in the season to be getting NLCs of this standard!. There were so bright they were reflecting off normal dark clouds causing them too glow. I took this video footage with a standard HD video camera mounted on a tripod in a field after midnight so this is not long after the show. There were band, waves and whirl structures and glowing blue, white and yellow colours. NLCs are 82km high in the Mesosphere and are of great interest to scientists, they still have much mystery and are known to be composed of comet dust so these are literally on the edge of space!
