The DW challenge is one of the hardest physical challenges imaginable. For one of today's competitors that challenge was made even harder. Captain Jon White, 28 was injured in Afghanistan in 2010 and had both legs and 1 arm amputated. His marathon partner Colour Sergeant Lee John Waters, 37, was also shot 3 times during his time in Afghanistan.

The biggest challenge for the two was possibly the portages where both men need to get out and carry the canoe.

There were emotional scenes at the finish line, as the scale of their achievement was clear to the waiting crowd. Both men are fundraising for SSAFA Forces Help and the Royal Marines Association - two charities that supported both men with their rehabilitation .
