Big Lion fails in one on one hunt with Nyala antelope
This large male Lion tried his luck during the day to hunt down a large male Nyala antelope in Hluhluwe Imfolozi game reserve. Sadly for the Lion he was just not fast enough to catch the Nyala, but we still got some good footage of the chase during our Safari.
Lions success rate in hunting is 1/10 and they have a better chance at night due to their eyes seeing better at night compared to the diurnal animals like the Nyala antelope. Its was "a shot in the dark" as we say but actually in the day. Lol.
