India successfully test-fired the Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QR-SAM) system by the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) from eastern India's Odisha on the afternoon of November 13. The missile was test-fired at an Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur off the state coast.

A video witnessing the incident features the initial countdown of the launch. After the countdown, the missile rockets towards the sky before disappearing into the heights.

The all-weather Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missiles has a range of 30 km (18.641 miles) and successfully destroyed the target. The missile can strike an aerial target cruising 15 km (9.321 miles) above the ground.

It is launched from a mobile two-vehicle system where one carries the missile, and the second involves the radar that helps acquire the targets.

After prior successful tests in the past years, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) expects the weapon system to be ready for induction by 2021.
