The joint user trials of Defence Research and Development Organization's Helina and Dhruvastra missile systems were successfully concluded in northern India's Rajasthan on February 19.

A video witnessing the incident features the launching of the missile. It swiftly takes off and appears like a ball of fire as it soars across the sky. The missile smoothly flies towards its destination while the helicopter hovers in the air.

The joint user trials were successfully carried out from the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) platform. Helina is the Army version while Dhruvastra is the Air Force version of the Anti Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs).

As a means of evaluating the capabilities of the missiles in minimum and maximum range, at least five missions were carried out where the missiles were fired in hover and max forward flight against moving and realistic static targets.

Helina has an extended strike range of 8 km (4.97 miles) and can engage targets in both indirect hit mode as well as top attack mode. It is one of the most advanced anti-tank weapons in the world and is now ready for induction.
