Amazing video of a lonely Hippo finding a friend in a Rhino at a watering hole on a very hot day in the African bush. If memory serves me well it was about 47 degrees Celsius.

This is incredibly rare footage and in 15 years of conducting Safaris in the bush I have never seen such behaviour between these two animals, or any for that matter.

Never underestimate the changes in behaviour of animals when they are under stress. In this scenario, water was scarce and the Hippo needs more water than this to sustain itself. So this sighting was something very special for me.
