A spectacular mass of rare UFO clouds that resembled a spaceship formed over the peak of Mount Rinjani in Indonesia.

Fuad Bawazier, 20, was relaxing in his garden when he saw the beautiful cloud formation blanketing the active volcano in West Nusa Tenggara province on November 17.

The local said this was the most perfectly shaped sheet of clouds that he had seen over the volcano.

He said: "This isn't the first time we saw that cloud but it rarely appears. This time it was too beautiful. It made my day."

Fuad's neighbour, Ruslan Abdul Gani, 35, said the clouds looked like a UFO alien spaceship perched on the summit.

He said: "The UFO cloud stayed around for a long time. It was there for around an hour. It was really amazing."

Lenticular clouds are one of the rarest clouds which are believed to be one of the most common explanations for reported UFO sightings.

They are dense, stationary clouds which are caused by sudden air movements and are often found near hills or mountains. They can cause turbulence for planes if they fly through the cloud or surrounding areas.
