Clashes erupted in Nantes, France, on Tuesday (December 15) after hundreds took to streets to protest against the government's controversial security law.

Footage shows police firing tear gas and water cannon at protesters who set off flares.

According to local media, more than 1,500 people took part in the protest.

On tuesday 15th december, the 4th protest against the Global Security law took place in Nantes, west of France.
More than a 1000 gathered as a march in support of the culture and entertainment sector converged with the "Marche des Libertés" (march for freedoms).
Planned as a static protest, a part of the people gathered wanted to march through the city but got stopped right away as tear gas was shot and a water canon was used.
By 7pm, the protest was dispersed, only one hour before the mandatory curfew impsoed after a month and a half of lockdown.
