A cat and a dog became who were both abandoned by their families have become best friends after they were adopted into the same home by a Thai man.

Pet owner Supot Poonprasert found the animals within a few days of each other and thought he'd have a problem making the rescued strays get along well when he took them in his home in Ang Thong province, Thailand a few months ago.

However, the four-months-old adopted pets - a dog named Nong Jaew and a cat named Maew - became inseparable like close siblings.

Footage recorded on December 19 shows the pets having fun playing in the man's front yard.

Despite having opposite temperaments, Supot said the two never fought each other so he didn't have a hard time raising them.
He said: "They are such sweet creatures, and sometimes they have the weirdest game that they appear to enjoy."

The energetic dog likes to lightly nip the cat on its neck, while the moggie lets its friend drag it around while playing dead.

Supot added that he is glad that his pets easily became close with each other without fighting in their new home.

He said: "I know cats and dogs always fight for some reason. I am lucky to have found such sweet pets."
