The Greek city of Thessaloniki was blanketed white today (January 16) after cold front "Leandros" dumped snow across northern parts of the country.

"Temperatures below zero and people enjoying the snow or taking pictures to share the winter scenery with their friends or family," said the filmer of this clip.

"And of course, the building process of a snowman in the time of pandemic requires him to wear a face mask," he added.

According to the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), the cold front will bring gusty winds, freezing temperatures and snow to large parts of the mainland.

The cold snap is set to end on January 18.
