India's first veterinary neurosurgery to be conducted in eastern India

A stray dog, diagnosed with a brain tumour after a computerized tomography (CT) scan, will undergo surgery in eastern India's Odisha on January 21. The incident took place in Bhubaneswar. Visuals shot on January 14 witnessed the CT scan procedure of the domestic animal. 

The visuals feature a team of animal rescuers capturing a dog with an unusual bump on its head from a street during the night. After successfully rescuing it, they check the pup and discover something odd. They carry it along to a clinic for a CT scan, where they discover that the animal is suffering from a brain tumour.

The stray dog was rescued by an organization and they took the dog for a CT scan of the brain seven days ago. For the first time, it was conducted on a pet and it was discovered that the pup was suffering from a brain tumour. After several blood tests, the doctor advised an urgent operation to save its life. The animal will be operated by both human and veterinary doctors in Tarzoo Pet Care.

Dr. Soubhagya Ranjan Tripathy, a Neurosurgeon, and Dr. Mahesh Rath from Hi-tech Medical College and Hospital along with Dr. Debasis Das and Dr. Rajesh Mahapatra from the veterinary clinic will take part in this unique surgery.
