Muntjac in the Snow, Badgers in the Mist, & Mating in the Rain outside the sett, near Stroud, Gloucestershire, Part 2

Buy video

A male muntjac deer picks his way through sunny snow beside a #badgersett near #Stroud, #Gloucestershire just over three hours after a female #muntjac walked the same path (at the end of Part 1).
The #cameratrap was here for a week, recording day and night (using infrared light after dark, unknown to the #badgers), giving a glimpse into the private life of Britain's largest terrestrial #predator.
Today's #BrightenYourDay video, to connect you to nature during a wintry #Covid19 #lockdown, is a second selection of clips of them coming and going in snow, mist and rain, grooming, scent-marking, courting and even mating (half way through the video) - which they appeared to continue for more than an hour and a half but don't worry, this is just the edited highlights! Then there is a bout of scent-marking each other, and some self-grooming before heading off into the night to forage for food.
