'This is amazing!' Curious whales breach to inspect boaters off Mexico's west coast
A group of boaters were pleasantly surprised when a pod of whales breached the surface to inspect the vessels.
Shot in Magdalena Bay, Mexico, by Eli Martinez the video shows the curious marine mammals swim underneath the boats before breaching within touching distance of the filmer.
Martinez said: "These moments are why we visit this magical place.
"The whales visit Mag Bay for birthing and mating. The whales around our boat are courting, which makes the females extremely flirty, for lack of a better word, and the females come in rubbing up against the boats and they ask the people on the boats for face rubs."
The filmer hailed this experience as the coolest feeling in the world and stressed how hard it is to not get emotional over this kind of interaction.
This footage was filmed on February 9.
