A sandstorm shrouded Beijing causing low visibility and serious air pollution.

The video, filmed in Beijing on March 15, shows the city turning orange and people wearing masks to walk on the road.

The National Meteorological Center labelled the sandstorm as the most intense the country had seen in 10 years.

The local meteorological observatory issued a yellow warning signal (lowest level) for the sandstorm and the lowest visibility was less than 300 metres.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
