Heavy smog caused extremely low visibility and air pollution in Beijing today (November 14).

Video shot from ground level and from indoor windows shows the thick smog covering the whole city with minimal visibility. Commuters can be seen wearing masks and buildings are often completely obscured.

The PM2.5 reached 276 and a yellow alert for serious air pollution has been launched in the city, according to reports.

The air pollution was estimated to improve gradually from the 15th onwards, reports said.
