A mum living in Brick Township, New Jersey, has accused her landlord of stripping her house bare and throwing her father's ashes in the bin.

Kayla Lacara, 22, posted a series of videos to TikTok claiming that her landlord had completely trashed their house while she was on vacation.

The 22-year-old mother's footage from March 11 shows her house wiped clean as her belongings had been thrown out.

Lacara also details that her landlord had taken her dad's ashes and "dumped" them in the bin outside her house. She also added that her dad had died only three months ago.

The mum told Newsflare: "All of our belongings were thrown out, furniture, baby clothes, diapers, wipes, all mine and my boyfriend's clothes, shoes, our TV, all our kitchen utensils, pots and pans, all our food and drinks, our toothbrushes, hairbrushes and products, soaps, even the doorknobs on every door and our shower curtains!

"Anything you can think of was stolen, even our Christmas tree!

"She returned nothing but a broken TV that she kicked in before returning, the worst part was finding my dad's urn and ashes dumped in the dumpster next to our apartment complex.

"My daughter has no clothes or toys. My boyfriend and I have nothing, we need all the help we can get. I need therapy after this I’m scarred after finding my dad at the bottom of the trash."

Lacara and her boyfriend had moved into the apartment on a short-term six-month lease and had paid rent up until March.

The family had no idea that their landlord had been allegedly sub-letting the property.

The property's owner is now seeking an eviction notice and is aiming to rent the apartment to a new tenant.

Lacara and her family are still currently living in the trashed apartment and have nowhere else to go.

The 22-year-old has set up a GoFundMe page which has raised over $4,000 and can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/pftrej-help-kayla-rebuild-her-home?member=9307802&sharetype=teams&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer
