A group of friends were left gutted after walking into an apartment they booked for their friend's birthday only to find it completely trashed.

Molly Titley and her mates had booked a hotel on Hampton Street, Birmingham, but had found the place ruined on May 6.

Footage filmed by Titley shows litter strewn across the apartment, the oven smashed, and huge dents in the wall of a bedroom.

She told Newsflare: "We booked an apartment in Birmingham for our friend's 18th birthday, we arrived and the door was unlocked, we walk in to see it all trashed.

"We booked it through booking.com and we called the owner and she said she would, 'send a cleaner'. We replied, 'a cleaner won’t help this we need somewhere new to stay!'

"We called booking.com and they said there isn’t anything they can do, we called the host back and she blocked us. We had to get a brand new apartment and still waiting for our deposit and money back from the trashed apartment.

"Overall we paid £253 for the night. when we walked in and it was all trashed and a hazard to even stay in! There was blood all over the floor, smashed glass, urine on the window, and drugs everywhere.

"We were on call to three different Booking.com operators but in the end, they told us there’s nothing they can do and we will just have to book a new place and that is what we had to do as we couldn’t go back home as we don’t live in Birmingham.

"We then spent an additional £390 on a new place, we are appalled.

"I haven’t received any comments from the owner and booking.com has done nothing, no discounts, no rewards, no apologies, I have had no contact, I live in Telford that is an hour and 20 minutes on a train I went."

Booking.com has been contacted for a comment.
