This was the intense moment a tiger pounced towards a jeep full of passengers in northern India.

Footage from March 7 shows the big cat launch towards the vehicle as it lets off an intimidating roar.

Passengers on the jeep in Jim Corbett National Park, Ramnagar, immediately began yelling at the oncoming tiger to ward it off.

The tiger is seen backing down and retreating into the wooded area.

A video features a vehicle full of visitors halted in proximity to a thicket surrounded by forest cover. A tiger remains positioned in an alert state amid a couple of bushes. However, within moments, the big cat pounces towards the jeep, following which it immediately retreats once the onlookers begin yelling at it.

The big cats are one of the main attractions of the National Park. The tigers often stray onto the clearing or chase after onlookers, giving the visitors a sight to cherish.
