A supermarket employee used managed to an elderly man in a wheelchair rolling down an escalator in southwest China.

The CCTV video, captured in the city of Kaili in Guizhou Province on April 19, shows a woman in a blue shirt suddenly running to stop the wheelchair-bound man from smashing into the counter at the bottom of the escalator.

According to reports, the two women were both supermarket employees. The woman in a blue shirt was named Yang Cheng and she finished her work when the incident happened.

A woman reportedly pushed the elderly man in the wheelchair onto the escalator. The wheelchair lost control and slid down the escalator when the woman went to help a child get on it.

Thanks to Yang's quick reaction, the elderly man was not injured.

跟随老人身后滑落的还有一位小孩，

看到老人安全，

女子又跑到老人身后，

抱起滚落在地的小孩。

4月20日下午，记者找到了视频中的两个救人女子，她们都是凯里佳惠超市的职工。视频中的蓝衣女子叫杨澄，是一名收银员，事发时她已下班。红衣女子叫杨光珍，是烟酒柜的工作人员。
说起事发时救人的行为，两人均表示，这是她们应该做的，换成任何一位同事在现场，应该都会这样。

记者向现场人员了解到，当时一女子推着老人上的扶梯，旁边还有一个小孩。可能把老人放上电梯后去拉小孩上电梯，一时间，老人的轮椅就失控冲了下去。

所幸最终老人没有受伤，孩子也只是有点擦伤。
