The eruption took place on the 22nd of May in Mount Nyiragongo, which forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes as lava flowed through their communities. Thousands of people are returned to Goma in hopes that their homes would still be intact. Héritier Baraka filmed crowds of people making the journey back to their hometowns from Sake to Goma.
