Being careful around power cables is normally about the electricity they carry, but in Jakarta there's another hazard to worry about -- 5m long snakes!

Firefighters in East Jakarta, Indonesia, came to the scene when local residents alerted them to the giant reptile's unusual choice of place to hang out.

One brave member of the team then rescued the giant flower python from the overhead cables.

While pythons are sometimes found in Jakarta and other southeast Asian cities, they typically hide from humans in storm drains and other concealed places, only appearing in public in large numbers during floods -- a common problem in the low-lying city.
