A dog in India is recovering after successfully having a nylon face mask removed from its stomach.

Guru, a resident of Madurai district of Tamilnadu, noticed his labrador hadn't been eating properly for three days and took it to the vet to have an x-ray.

There x-ray revealed that the dog, Brunea, had swallowed a face mask.

But vet operated on the dog and was able to remove the nylon mask through its mouth, without needing external surgery.

The dog is now doing well, said the vet who operated the dog.
