This is the adorable moment a pet dog was spotted swimming in the sea ‘like a friendly dolphin’ in Thailand.

Footage shows the pooch named Yelly having fun paddling in the water while she and her owner sailed on the sea near Koh Chang Island in Trat province.

Pet owner Suwan Pita said he was doing some marine research for work when the dog jumped into the water to enjoy.

He said: ‘Yelly loves following us out to the sea. Any time we stopped the ship, she would kill the time by paddling in the clear water ocean. She’s more like a dolphin than a dog.

‘She used to be a stray dog in the island before we adopted her. We have been her family for more than four years. She’s around six-years-old now.’
