The odd-even traffic system in Palembang, South Sumatra (Sumsel), is officially implemented, This is done as an effort to suppress people's mobility so that the transmission of Covid-19 can be controlled and prevent a spike in cases.

The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia is increasingly worrying. This can be seen from the addition of daily cases, the number of deaths and active cases that have increased significantly. Based on data compiled by the government as of Monday (5/7/2021) at 12.00 WIB, it shows that there were 29,745 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

This addition causes the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to currently reach 2,313,829 people, as of the first case announced by President Joko Widodo on March 2, 2020.
