A mother cow in India showed its love for its child when it chased after a farmer who took its newborn calf away on a motorbike.

The pregnant cow was grazing in Perungalatur in Tamil Nadu when it suddenly delivered its calf.

Discovering this, the dairy farmer who owned the cow came to bring the calf to its mother's shed, by putting the calf on his motorbike.

Not knowing where the man was taking her newborn, the new mum tried to obstruct the motorbike, before chasing after it when it moved.

Fortunately the farmer was simply heading home, so all three made it back safely despite the initial panic.

Observers were impressed with the dedication the mother cow had to her baby.
