Youth climb a slippery pole in India as a part of the temple festival

The Muthalamman Temple Utsavam took place in Pudupatti near Nattam in Dindigul District, India. As a gesture of gratitude and devotion to the Goddess, devotees participated in climbing a slippery pole. Youngsters from the village competed to ascend the 40-foot-tall pole, aiming to reach the prize object placed at its peak.
